Elton Brock Obituary
- - Elton Brock, age 87, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 9, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital.
He was born on April 3, 1931 the son of Myron and Freida Brock. He was a life time resident of Spencer, NY.
Elton is survived by his dedicated, loving wife of 67 years, Donna and his children, Timothy (Cecilia) Brock; Lori (Don) Lesh; and Robin Jolicoeur. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah and his son Nathanael.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Michelle, Joshua, Pamela, Amanda, Jennifer, Cassie, Thomas, Cameron, Bijou and Caprise as well as his great-grandchildren Reece, Ava, Greyson, Jackson and Liam. He is also survived by his brother Fred Brock, along with a large loving family who adored him.
Elton graduated from Spencer Central School in 1949, where he excelled in sports of all kinds. He attended the University of Virginia to pursue a career in coaching. He was a Route #1 Mail Carrier in Spencer for 40 years. In his younger years, Elton was actively involved in coaching little league. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing horseshoes. He loved his yearly vacations to Myrtle Beach, where is spent his days surf-fishing. More than anything he loved the time he spent with his wife and family.
He was a member of the Owego Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for nearly 50 years. He loved sharing the beautiful promises from the Bible with many. He was a man of deep faith, conviction and integrity.
Elton was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He had the innate ability to make every individual he spoke with feel special and was everyone's "favorite guy". He was a faithful, loving husband; a wonderful, devoted father, a one-of-a-kind grandfather and the best papa ever!
Memorial Services for Elton will be held on Sunday May 13th at 4:30 p.m. at the Owego Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1040 Owego Road, Candor NY. A gathering will be held immediately following the services at the Countryside Community Center, 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd. Owego, NY.

Just learning this news now. Dear Donna and Family, very sorry for your loss. Mr. Brock was a giant in our little town and will be remembered by so many whose lives he touched. The same way it takes a special man to be a dad, it takes a special man to be a coach. And those of us he guided along the way know what a great coach he was. Love to you all.

Deepest sympathy in the loss of someone so special and so beloved. We'll certainly miss his smile and jokes, he was truly one of a kind. We are fortunate to have decades of memories between our families. Sending much love and prayers and hoping it provides some small comfort to you.
