Flora Griep Obituary

FLORA E. GRIEP
GROTON - Flora E. Griep, 80, of Sovocool Hill Rd., Groton, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center Nursing Facility.
Mrs. Griep was born May 15, 1927 in Groton, the daughter of the late Fay and Leona Wood, and was a lifelong Groton resident. She was a devoted homemaker, who had assisted her late husband, Harry, in operating a family farm. Flora was a member of the West Groton Community Church, and she enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping. Flora's greatest joy in life was being with her family.
She is survived by her three sons, Lacey (Sharon) of Groton, Frank (Joyce) of Florida, and Jon of Groton; five daughters, Virginia (Danny) Congdon of Virginia, Linda (Hubert) Dorn of Brooktondale, Shirley (Dennis) Ray of Freeville, Rosemary Sinclair of Groton, and Juli (Dennis) Lash of Fair Haven; 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Loraine Wood of Freeville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Harry C. Griep; by a son, Kevin W.; by a grandson, Brent Scott Congdon; and by her brother, Donald L. Wood.
A Memorial Service will be held at Noon, Friday, October 5, in the New Testament Church of Peruville with the Rev. John Iler officiating. Private interment will be in West Groton Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Testament Church of Peruville.
Arrangements are with the Shurtleff Funeral Home, Groton.

I miss you Flora. I remember when i used to talk to at the hospital when i volunteered there. You will always be in my heart and i will always think of your smile you gave me everyday i volunteered there.
