On Dec. 15th the Trust Co. held their semi-annual dinner/dance and
your father came to mind. It was
at the 2005 party that my husband
and I had the pleasure of being seated at the same dining table and enjoying food and conversation with
George.

Before retiring from the Main Office Customer Service Dept., I almost daily exchanged a "hello" with him, and heard some of the
younger girls 'tease' him with an
additional "Georgie Porgie".
I considered him the bank's 'master'
transporter of materials. He was
also our friendly greeter on spring
and fall "highway cleanup" Sats.
He brought supplies out to our Etna
location, then gave individuals a
ride to their point of work assign-
ment.
He was a delightful man!
With sympathy.

To all of George's family - We cannot imagine the depth of grief you must
be feeling right now at George's passing. No words we say can ease your
grief or bring you peace of mind, but we want you to know our thoughts
and prayers are with you at this very sad time.
When our in-laws
visited from England, George and Pat always invited us and them over to
their home for Pat's special cheesecake. When I told my mother-in-law
of George's passing, she told me she still remembers those evenings
when they were made to feel like life-long friends. Though seeming a
quiet, reserved person, George had a special way of making everyone
feel welcome in his
home, really listening to what everyone had to say and making
conversations easy. Alan and I had many trips with George and Pat to
The Merry-go-round Theater in Auburn and a good dinner together
pre-show. We remember George as a 'gentleman' whose company we enjoyed.
He was a loyal and dedicated worker and when we thought he'd finally 'retired' we'd still see him picking up special packages from the bank - still working. He was fortunate to have a big
family, and we know how proud he was of all of you. Likewise, you all
will
have so many happy memories to share with each other of good times
together with George as a Dad, Granddad, Great Granddad and friend.
George was such a
good role model to all of you. He will be sadly missed.
Our sincere condolences, Barbara and Alan Littlefair
Please share this with all of your family. We hope it gives you the
comfort it has given to Alan and me.
TOGETHERNESS by Scott Holland
Death is nothing at all. I've only slipped away into the next room. I
am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old
familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference into your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or
sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me. Let my name be the household
name it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort. Life means all that it ever meant. It
is the same as it ever was.
Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight? I am
but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around
the corner. All is well, nothing is past, nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before, only better,
infinitely happier and forever. We are all one together in Christ.

When so many people deeply feel the loss of a person, it is a testament to the fact that the person had a warm, generous & kind heart. That describes George. He was everyone's dearest friend, and our loss is now heaven's gain. God Bless you George. We love you and always will.

"Uncle" George was an amazing person who was surronded by so many people who loved and cared about him. Every family gathering and every celebration he was there to share in the special time. I will forever remember George's kindness and wonderful smile. I had the privilege of knowing George for many years, and he jokingly referred to me as one of his granddaughters. I will miss seeing him around town and at the bank.
