H. Monkemeyer Obituary

H. SHENTON MONKEMEYER
ITHACA - H. Shenton Monkemeyer, 70, of Ithaca, NY, died Sunday, January 13, 2008.
Shenton was a Valedictorian of his senior class at Jamaica High and graduated from Haverford College in 1962. Shenton worked in Haverford, PA, and Ithaca.
Shenton loved chess, the piano, his family, and "the girls that used to follow him everywhere." He used to call square dances with an accordion on the lawns of the Old Sky Acres Farm on South Hill under the stars using car headlights to light up the night. Shenton's favorite summer Quaker retreat was Silver Bay on Lake George, NY.
Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family was assisted by the E.C. Wagner Funeral Home of Ithaca. www.ecwagnerfuneralhome.com.

In loving memory of our friend Shenton.....
We will miss your laughter and smile. You were always so cheerful. You were a strong contributing member to our fellowship and a blessing to have as a volunteeer. You were hardworking and dedicated, always willing to help. You had an impish grin and great spunk. Such a great personality - quiet sometimes, somewaht pensive, but then a chuckle or two. We admired your skill in Jeopardy, especially the Geography category. We will miss you so very much. All of our lives have been blessed having known you. Our sympathy and condolences to your family. We have made a donation to Gadabout in honor. We think you would have appreciated that gesture.
Fondly,
Your Loving Friends in Ithaca
