Sue: I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful daughter. The last couple of days I wore the necklace she made that Linda and you gave me a few years ago. Wearing her necklace kept you in my thoughts. Please know I am thinking of you during this painful time.

My heart is just breaking. Jana came into our family's life just about 5yrs ago and touched us in so many ways. Our daughter Dyan Marie Orr was going through such pain from this devistating dieses. Jana gave us hope even after our daughter passed in July of 07, that someday there would be a cure. She gave our daughter the will to fight and our family. Dyan fought so hard for two years knowing that she had a great friend out there doing the same. I am compforted with the fact they (Jana&Dyan) finally got to meet, and are in the arms of our Father. I am so sorry for your loss, but also so very proud to have known and been a small part of her life. She gave so much and asked for so little in return. God Bless your family and may he grant you peace. Forever a friend Tonya Orr

I will never forget Jana and the relationship we developed over the past few months. The smile that lighted up my day, that sweet voice, and the unbelievable love that she shared with Eric. It was a privelage to be with you all in the last days. I will never forget the feeling of her head on my shoulder. You will be greatly missed my friend...

Eric, Jack and Gavin,
Jana's many friends will forever remember her for her courage and determination in fighting her dred disease. Four years ago, when I first came to know her at the Duke Center for Living, I admired her cheerful, friendly attitlude as she exercised diligently in gaining strength to fight for her life. After I came to know her I asked how she maintained such a cheerful attitude, knowing that her prognosis for a long life was negative. Her straightforward answer was, "I pray a lot."
Jana's efforts in creating the LGDA foundation illustrates her attitude,"If not for me, then for others." As you know, through the Alliance she hoped to fund medical research to enhance recognition of and a cure for Lymphangiomatosis and Gorham's Disease. Hopefully many doctors will follow her in these efforts.
Each of you and your family miss her greatly, but know that she continues to live through others who will benefit from having known her. I feel honored to be counted as one of her friends.
Sincerely,
Cy Matheson

"God saw you getting weary, he did what he thought best; he put his arms around you and said, "Come and Rest". He opened up His golden gates on that heartbreaking day, and with His arms around you, you gently slipped away. It breaks our hearts to loose you, you did not go alone; a part of us went with you the day God called you home."
My thoughts and prayers are with Jana's Family during this difficult time. She was an inspiration to anyone who knew her, especially the lives she touched through her teachings, her work. Jana, you will truely be missed.

We mourn with you, the passing of Jana. While we didn't know her personally, we know that Jack devoted his latter life increasing awareness and driving for a cure. She must have been a very strong woman and we know that you are proud of what she was able to accomplish in furthering a cure and know that her spirit lives on.

My sympathies to the family of Jana. I met Jana at the center for living and she was described as the little on with the beautiful blue eyes. She had a smile that exuded warmth and a fighting yet tender spirit. I am grateful I had the opportunity to cross paths with her because people like her are a true inspiration and leader. I pray God comfort you all in your time of mourning anf grant you peace.

Joe and I have such wondweful memories of your family when you lived next door to us in Mendham. Jana was always the quieter younger sister. I can't even imagine the grief you are suffering now. However you raised a wonderful and caring young woman.

Eric, and Jana's family. I know that Jana rejoices in the presence of our Lord, Her eyes are filled with the throne, her ears with the Chorus HOLY HOLY HOLY. And she joins her precious voice with those.
I know your hearts are breaking. The Lord's heart shares your pain. He hates death too, as scripture says, the last enemy death will be done away with. He hates that we experience this pain even as He rejoices in welcoming His children home. He is with you and holds each tear you shed. Know you are in my prayers. Lean into the One who loves you more than anyone else.
Love,
Marie Dexter, Rachel Mayers mom
