Jesse Solomon Obituary
Las Vegas, NV - Jesse A. Solomon, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 23, 2018 surrounded by family and friends in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Born April 29, 1931 to the late Jesse and Mary Badia Solomon, he graduated from Ludlowville High School in 1948 and continued his education at Rochester Institute of Technology where he was a pitcher on the RIT baseball team. He received his degree in 1951. Jesse was employed by Heidelberg Press and the Ithaca Journal retiring from George Junior Republic where he was a printing instructor for many years.
Jesse was a man's man. He was an avid outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, golfer, legendary thoroughbred handicapper, and a connoisseur of fine pies. He could reel in a rainbow trout, shoot a quarter out of the sky with a shotgun, trap a muskrat and change your car's oil in the driveway. He was an easy conversationalist, a good story teller and one of the funniest men you would ever meet. He loved the spirit of competition and the spirit of camaraderie.
He will be sadly missed by his three children, Greg (Lana) Solomon, Lisa (Todd) Solomon Downs and JJ (Emily) Solomon; grandchildren Maddie, Bella, Noah and Marina; nephews Drew (Sheila, Lauren and Richard) Solomon and Riad Shalaby (Alena); niece Heidi (Mark, Zachary and Daniel) Noggle; sister Margaret Shalaby and sister-in-law Margaret Solomon, dear friend Bobbie McBee and many family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Jesse was predeceased by his brother, Richard H. (Dicke) Solomon, and many close "cousins" from his hometown of Myers Heights.
The family will have a celebration of life at a later date this summer in Myers, New York.

Greg, Lisa, Jay and families, I am saddened to learn of the passing of your father. Jesse always carried himself as a gentleman and was a very kind person. Of course knowing Jess all my life he was always a source of comedic wisdom especially when it came to the guys he grew up with. In my teen and college years, I remember Greg and I losing many a quarter to Jesse playing golf at the local courses. To a life well lived, rest in peace my friend.
