Some of my fondest memories of managing a small restaurant in Ithaca called Danny's place were of John and Nancy Babcock! They were truly beautiful people and so quick to bring humor and kindness whenever they stopped by. They made a sometimes very stressful job alot easier with their words of wisdom and support. I'll never forget the funny stories and the truffles at Christmas time.

Dear Susan and family,
I was so very saddened to read of your Dad's passing. Your Dad was such a good and fine friend and relative to my mother Hilda B Sine. She used to tell my sister and I many stories of Sunny Gables and playing there together. I remember going to Sunny Gables to see your Grandmother and seeing John when I was a very young child. He was a very special man indeed. I am very saddened for your family and your loss of your Dad.
Sincerely
Judith Sine Jager

Susan, Nancy, and Jeannie:
I was traveling when I heard about John's death last weekend, and am so sorry that we will not be able to get to Ithaca in time for the services Thursday. We will be thinking of all of you and we have you in our prayers.
To say the Kolar family will miss John is such an understatement - he was family, as are you all. We had so many fun experiences over so many years ... both he and your Mom were unforgettable to us all!

Dear Susan,
we were deeply saddened to learn of your father's passing. He was an extraordinary man representing so much of Ithaca's and Cornell's history. He was kind, dedicated, - a wonderful human being and we treasured knowing him for so many years. It seems like an era has come to a close with his passing, but all of us who had the good fortune to know him are immeasurably enriched by the memory of his friendship. We hope that many wonderful memories of the life you shared together will help ease your pain. Our thoughts and good wishes are with you in this difficult time.
Please accept our sincere condolences,
Priscilla Ball

Susan, My heart goes out to you and your family. You Dad was such a wonderful man. I enjoyed coming into your home to care for your dad and then to see you later at the Yacht Club was marvelous. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
