Kistler, Kay A.

Columbia City: Kay A. Kistler, 76, formerly of Columbia City, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw where she had been a resident since 2003. She was born August 25, 1936 in Warsaw, Indiana a daughter of Floyd F. and Gladys E. (Kilgore) Kistler. Her formative years were spent in Pierceton. She graduated from Pierceton High School and then went on to Manchester College where she received her Bachelor's in Education. She was an elementary teacher in Wisconsin, New Hampshire, New York and Florida. In 1984 she became a private nanny. In 1998 she retired and moved to Columbia City. Surviving relatives include her children, Kathy Likens (Ronald) Carapetyan, Apex, NC, Gregory (Michele) Likens, Brewster, NY and Leslie (Mitch) Armbruster, Apex, NC; six grandchildren, and a brother, Stanley (Pam) Kistler, Pierceton, and a niece and nephew. A private interment service at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Preferred memorials are to Head Start, attn: Crystal Poe, 504 N Bay Dr, Warsaw, IN 46580. Condolences may be sent to www.smithandsonsfuneralhome.com.
