Pijanowski, Kimberly M. Kathan

Kimberly M. Kathan Pijanowski, 41, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away peacefully with her family and close friends at her side on July 17, 2014 at the Wallace Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. Kim is survived by her husband John, and son, Jack Kathan Pijanowski; her parents, Dan H. Kathan and Barbara W. Kathan Verna of Ithaca; her brother, Todd A. Kathan and family of Medfield, MA; and her grandmother, Marie P. Witzel of Ithaca. Kim lived through her 1,599 day ALS journey filled with the unwavering desire to live a full life and to be in the present. Kim inspired so many people with her dedication to continuing to accomplish many things and be a wonderful mom to her son in the face of significant challenges. Kim's blog is: kimals.wordpress.com. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at 9:00 a.m. at Stewart Park in Ithaca, NY. Friends are welcome to attend, please bring a chair. Memorial donations made in Kim's memory can be directed to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 Longview Dr., Fayetteville, AR 72703 or to the ALS National Foundation for research, www.als.org.
