Laura Ford Obituary

LAURA L. FORD
ITHACA - Laura L. Ford, age 71, of 24 Franklyn Drive, died on Friday, October 3, 2008, at Cayuga Medical Center following a brief illness.
Laura was born in Ithaca on January 17, 1937. After leaving her job as a clerk at Mack's Pharmacy in 1981, she began her working career in earnest as nanny to four grandchildren. She found joy in traveling the country, especially its shores, with her beloved husband. Above all, she cherished her family dearly.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, William; daughter, Georgia (Paul) Hotchkiss; son, Tom (Kristen) Ford; sister, Ella (Roger) Boda; brother, Charles (Vivian) Lent; four grandchildren, Brett and Brian Hotchkiss, Matthew and Jocelyn Ford; nieces, Tamra (Rich) Schad and Kim Ford; nephews, Michael and Les Boda, and Nathan (Brantley) Ford; brother-in-law, Robert (Jane) Ford; and sister-in-law, Nanci Ford; numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews.
The family will hold prayers of committal at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross, 201 West Clinton St, Ithaca, NY 14850.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing, NY.

Your families are in our prayers. Keep the memories close in your heart. Our family will always cherish the memories of "Grandma Ford" at the Lansing sporting events cheering on her grandchildren. She was an amazing lady who will be missed by many. God Bless you all.

I have many fond memories of Laura at Macks Pharmacy. She was buddle of joy and a ray of sunshine in the Plaza. She will always be one of my happy memoies of my years at the Plaza. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
