Lloyd Mix Obituary
Lloyd E. Mix, age 81, of Yellow Barn Rd., Freeville, NY went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his home. Born February 6, 1932 in Ithaca, NY he was the son of the late Howard and Diana Crispell Mix. A self employed farmer, he was a member of Brooktondale Baptist Church and the Ithaca Antique Car Club. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Irene Wright Mix at home; children, Brian (Diane) Mix of Freeville, NY, Ann (Clayton) Maybee of Freeville, NY, Heather (Neal) Soenksen of Howell, MI, Joann Walker of Freeville, NY and Heidi (Jeff) Makela of VanEtten, NY; brother, James (Henny) Mix of Freeville, NY; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, he was predeceased by brother, Harold Mix and sisters, Belva Cornelius and Eleanor Pease and grandson, Kyle Soenksen. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Brooktondale Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Lloyd and Rev. Milo Thompson officiating. Private burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY. Friends may call from 5-7 pm Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Brooktondale Baptist Church, P.O. Box 144, Brooktondale, NY 14817 or Hospicare and Palliative Care Services, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.

My deepest sympathies to you all for the loss of Lloyd. I know he was one of my father's (Wilford Marion) favorite cousins, as he had him stand in his wedding.

My deepest condolences to Aunt Irene and the family. Uncle Lloyd was such a kind, quiet man who would be the first one in line to help a person in need. I have so many wonderful memories of spending summers with you all. Although we can not be with you in person at this time, we are always with you in heart and spirit. I'm sure gram was at the gates waiting to see Uncle Lloyd so that they could continue on with their laughing and joking. May he rest in peace until we are all reunited again in Heaven.

I have many fond memories from my youth of Uncle Lloyd. There were some great times visiting the farm as a child. He was always quietly in the background ready to help the kids with our mischievious fun.
