Norma Jayne Obituary
ITHACA - Norma M. Jayne, of 27 Oakcrest Road, Ithaca, passed away at Hospicare on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at the age of 85.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at the Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken.

Aunt Norma, you will always be remembered for your kindness and caring for others. From age 5 to 70 my sister and I cherished your love, guidance, friendship, visits and stimulating conversations. No matter where in the world myself and our family were assigned we treasured your cards, letters and phone conversations. We regret we never were able to take that trip to Italy together. In our hearts and minds, you are a national treasure forever lost. We're sorry we were not at your side when God beckoned. But your suffering is gone now. May you rest in God's arms forever. Our family will truly miss you!

I have had the esteemed priviledge of working for Mrs. Jayne over the past several years doing various chores and outdoor tasks. She was always kind, gracious and warm. Her zeal for life and spunky never quit independent attitude always impressed me. She truly was a wonderful woman and will truly be missed.

She was a treasure, always up beat, always efficient and always willing to discuss matters of local and, national interest. I have many wonderful memories of her as does my wife. To Norma and her family,
I was very fortunate in seeing and working with Norma in the vet school at Cornell. But the memories I will really treasure is our meeting on as many Saturdays as we could (the three of us (me, Norma and Helen) for breakfast at the Courtyard Marriot.
