Karen - I have only just learned of your husband's passing. My very deepest sympathy. It is a difficult adjustment to lose the other half of you. I speak for all of us - your Class of 64 classmates.

Bob Buhrman embodied everything that is good about science. His lectures at workshops and conferences are unforgettable - filled with skillfully communicated insight, honesty, and humility. We have lost him too soon.
My condolences to the Buhrman family.

I was a fellow student of Bob's at Cornell in the late 1960s and early 1970's. He taught me everything I know about making ultrasmall metal particles. We wrote one paper together that still is read (and cited) from time to time, almost 50 years later. His work will be remembered for may years to come.
I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing and send condolences to his family.
