Wendy Brashear Obituary

Wendy M. Brashear

Summerville, SC - Wendy M. Brashear, age 69, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 after a brave 4-year battle with cancer. Wendy was born August 13, 1950 in Sayre, PA. She retired in 2000 from Cornell University, Large Animal Clinic in Ithaca, NY. In search of beautiful weather, she then followed her family to Summerville, SC. Wendy was the Office Manager at Westbury Veterinary, where she again retired in 2015. Wendy was liked by everyone and was always smiling. She loved her family and had a passion for animals; especially her loyal dog Cima. She also enjoyed traveling, supporting her grandsons on the sidelines and planting flowers in her beautiful yard. She is survived by her daughter, Chris (Duane) L'Amoreaux of Charleston, SC; her two beloved grandsons Devin & Nick L'Amoreaux; and loving sister Linda (Jacobs) Dean (Doug). At Wendy's request there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in her memory to Dorchester Paws, 136 4 Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29483.

Of course, I would check in to say this sweet gal left a little part of her heart with so many. For me it was high school and right after. Going through those growing pains and sharing a friendship in one of our first jobs got us through those times. Always a positive attitude, laughter and sweet memories. Heaven is blessed as were all that knew Wendy!! Keep shining your light my friend!

Oh my gosh...my dear sweet pal from days of old... Zikakis Chevrolet days of working together and having more fun than probably we deserved! We laughed, partied, gossiped and have stories never to be told. Loretta never sent us out at lunch time again for cold medicine at the Derby!! Those hot dog sandwiches at the Italian restaurant. That old green car we bombed around in. Times change as does life but there are memories that stay in our hearts for a lifetime. I know that heaven is blessed and will always cherish those early years after graduation, and our friendship... Rest easy girl... Keep on shining your light!

Wendi had a special connection with people. She was very loving and kind. I'll never forget how much she tried to help people and went out of her way everyday. I was fortunate to work with her at Cornell. I'll genuinely miss her. My condolences to her family.

Wendy was a great boss. She was my supervisor at NYSCVM Large Animal Clinic in the 80s and 90s. One of the best and most fun jobs I ever had. She was kind, caring and smart and on top of new technology. Sorry to see you go Wendy! You were so good to me. K Ray

Sending condolances to Chris and family in the passing of your Mom and Grandma. Losing a parent is never easy. May God bring you comfort in the days ahead as memories of happy times together replace the sorrow of your recent loss.

Wendy was a very special person. I sure do miss all the good days at Westbury when she was there. We definitely kept her on her toes with all the pranks and she had such a good heart. She will be missed dearly. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
