Donna Reiner Obituary
Newton - Donna Christine Reiner, 67, of Newton, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at her home. She was born September 18, 1954 at Fort Riley, Kansas, to the late Lloyd and Mary (Martin) Norberg. Donna graduated from Bethany College in Lindsborg in 1976 and she married Steven Reiner on October 20, 1979 at Salemsborg Lutheran Church, Kansas.
Donna was a cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She developed dear friendships through church and children's activities throughout her marriage when her family lived in Hays, Hutchinson, Lakin, and Newton, Kansas. She retired in 2020 from her last job – one that brought her joy - at the Kanza Cooperative in Sedgwick; she grew up on the farm and one of her first jobs in high school was working the harvest at the Falun grain elevator.
She is survived by her husband: Steve of Newton, Kansas; daughters Anne (Brendon) Bowen of Royston, Georgia, and Candace (Stephen) Smith of Brownsville, Texas; as well as 4 grandchildren, Allison, Zachary, Mia and Aidan, and 2 great-grandchildren, August and Spencer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry Norberg and sister-in-law Teri Norberg.
Donna's funeral service will be at 11 AM on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Salemsborg Lutheran Church, 3831 W. Salemsborg Road, Smolan, Kansas 67456. It will be broadcast live on the Salemsborg Lutheran Church YouTube channel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salemsborg Lutheran Church or Salemsborg Lutheran Cemetery and may be sent in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home, 215 North Main Street, Newton, Kansas 67114.

I always enjoyed visiting with Donna, especially the day she met my grandson at a friend's baby shower. She was a delight.
My prayers are with Steve and the family. She will be greatly missed.

I worked with Donna at Prairie View. She was so kind, understanding, had a love of people! Had such great love for her family. A blessing to all of us that knew her. She will be missed.
