In August of 1962, she was united in marriage to R.D. Dix and to this union 2 children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carol Leann Dix, who died at the age of 6, sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Bob Shelton, and a nephew, Jeromy Denney. Doris is survived by her husband of 61 years, R.D.; son, Charles Dix and wife, Wendy, of Calais, Maine; a niece, nephew, great-niece and great-nephew. She was born and raised in Seymour, Missouri and graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1959. She and R.D. lived in Newton, Kansas from 1962 until 1999, where she worked in the Office of the District Court in Harvey County, Kansas and she was also a caregiver. They moved back to their hometown of Seymour where they retired on the Brixey family farm. Doris and R.D. attended Seymour First Christian Church and were very active in the church until their health failed. In her spare time, she liked to cook and was a great cook. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening and sewing. Doris was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and have many special memories that we will always cherish.
