I have many fond memories of days playing at the Ikerd home. As a new girl in town at the age of 7 I met Marcia who would fast become my best friend. I will always remember the fascination of the huge (to me) dining table and the fact that Mrs Ikerd never seemed annoyed about having friends of her kids over to play. The welcome mat at Ikerds was always out! My condolences to Marcia and the whole family!

Marcia I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. My prayers are being said for you and your entire family. I never forgot how hard she worked to help me get the knot tying patch in our Girl Scout Troop for my sash. Poor thing she tried for 3 meetings to get me to understand how to tie several knots and I never got the hang of that talent. She was such a wonderful leader and had the patience of Job. She was excited when I sailed through getting my leaf badge and having a 100% on my knowledge of all kinds of leaves. I did finally get the knot badge just for her! She was a great Lady and I am honored to have known her and to have had you and your family touch my life.

My parents were friends and attended same church as the Ikerds. Margaret was a great woman. Everyone was blessed in her presence. Condolences to the whole family.
