Ruby V. Winsky

RUBY V. WINSKY Ruby V. (Eck) Winsky died Monday, April 7, 2025, at Pine Village, Moundridge, KS. She was born May 12, 1922, in Moundridge, KS to Herman and Mary (Unruh) Eck and was a resident of the Halstead area throughout her life. Ruby and Albert John Winsky were married on November 16, 1941, at Moundridge. Besides helping with the family farming operation, Ruby was an 18-year employee at Halstead Hospital. Ruby attended Garden Community Church, and her faith was a profound part of her life. It is said "The greatest of these is love" and Ruby truly embodied this through her unwavering love and support for her husband, "Johnnie", her daughters, and their families. Ruby is survived by daughters: Jacque (Winston) Scott, Roeland Park, KS; Carol (John) Claassen, Beatrice, NE; Connie (Peter) Flanderka, Brookings, OR and Janice Winsky, Camarillo, CA; grandchildren, Carrie Graap, Lees Summit, MO; Cheryl (Ross) Hail, Fort Worth, TX; Chandra (Steve) Soulé, Clermont, FL, and Kegan Flanderka, Portland, OR; great-grandchildren Ethan (Katie) and Liam Graap, Kingston and Jagger Hail, and Lochlyn and Finley Soulé; sister Verda Friesen and brother Jerry (Marlene) Eck, both of Moundridge, KS., and many nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by husband Albert John (January 2003), parents Herman and Mary (Unruh) Eck, and sisters Rosalie (Harold) Nickel and Lois (Al) Penner. Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Garden Community Church, rural Moundridge. Private inurnment will be held at the church cemetery.
