JEFFERSON – Denise Annette Helms, 59, of Jefferson passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Denise Helms was born on July 29, 1961, in Monroe, N.C., to the late William Joseph Moree and Vera Odessa Rollings Moree.
She was predeceased by her brother, Michael "Kojak" Moree; and sister, Darlene Anderson.
Denise was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, where she loved attending and loved her church family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the beach and gardening. Denise was a caring person and enjoyed taking care of others and helping them.
Mrs. Helms is survived by her husband of 24 years, Dennis Neal Helms of Jefferson; son, Joshua Helms of Jefferson; daughters, Tanya Godwin (Jeremy) of Wingate, N.C., Crystal Tadlock (Chad) of Pageland, Michelle Snipes (Ronnie) of Lancaster and Amanda Privette (Collin Smith) of Monroe, N.C.; brothers, Jeff Moree of Pageland and Chris Moree (Mandee) of Oakboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Pageland.
There will be a celebration of life funeral service held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Pageland, with Pastor Roger Nance and Pastor Richard Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
