Elsie Phillips Obituary
She was born Aug. 18, 1938, to the late Pressley Williams and Eula Mae Plyler.
She graduated from Wingate University with an associate degree, and worked at Bowater Inc., where she was an executive secretary, until retiring in 2002. She loved playing the organ and piano, along with baking sweets for her family.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Phillips was held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with the Rev. Tony Caruso officiating. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her son, Drew Ellison Phillips (Toni Lisa) of Land O Lakes, Fla.; a sister, Carole Allison of Black Mountain, N.C.; five grandchildren, Bryce Ellison Phillips of Lancaster, Dyneka (Anthony) Rosandich, Anthony (Vivianie) Marteli, Alexis (Argirios) Spiridakos and Leonelis (Courtney) Marteli; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Rosandich, Raphael Marteli and Joseph Marteli.
The family requested this to be an extremely private and intimate service only attended by invitation to honor Mrs. Phillips. The viewing was 10-11 a.m. Friday at Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
