Kathleen Shehane Obituary
She was born Dec. 30, 1938, in Lancaster County, a daughter of the late James Leonard Caskey and Iva Faye Bowers Caskey. She was the wife of the late Marvin Eugene Shehane. Mrs. Shehane was a seamstress at Tic-Tac and F. Schumacher Industries. She loved gardening, fishing and shopping. She was a peacemaker and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shehane was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she enjoyed helping in various aspects and at Faith Christian School.
Surviving to cherish her memory are a son, Mark Shehane; two daughters, Pansy Marie Wilson and Carla Deanna Bell and her husband, Scott; five grandchildren, Justin Kent Shehane, James Logan Shehane and special friend, Chesney Lyles, Mitchell Scott Bell and his wife, Natalie, Allison Marie Bell and Abby Leanne Bell; two great-grandchildren, Maverick Scott Bell and Nathan Boyd Bell; three brothers, James Caskey, Ira Caskey and Billy Caskey; and four sisters, Alice Cairnes, Nancy Drawdy, Grace Lane and Jean Caskey.
Mrs. Shehane was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Shehane; and two brothers, Thomas Caskey and Floyd Caskey.
The celebration of life funeral service for Mrs. Shehane is 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Faith Baptist Church by the Revs. Gerald Eaves, Dan Waters and Jimmy Fore. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 17, at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster; and suggest memorial contributions be made to Faith Baptist Church, 4695 JB Denton Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
