Mary Ellen Rollins Adams Obituary
She was born July 1, 1924, in Lancaster, a daughter of the late James Ellison Walters and Rosetta Deas Walters. She was twice widowed by Virgil Lee Rollins and Lester Eugene Adams.
Mrs. Adams is survived by two daughters, Mary Lee Garris (Jerry) of Lancaster and Geraldine "Dean" Rollins of Lancaster/Hawaii; a son, Carl Rollins of Paradise, Calif.; five grandchildren, Larry Garris of Lancaster, Emily Garris (special friend, Patricia Greer) of Waxhaw, N.C., Michael Lee Rollins of Honolulu, Hawaii, Tyler Rollins and Dustin Rollins, both of California; two great-granddaughters, Lanette Garris (fiancé, Victer Townsend) of Columbia and Tiffany Conrad (special friend, Adam Crawford); and special caregivers, Grace Reeves, Becky Metcalf, G.G. McGriff, Donna Hardy and Florence Kolb.
Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; and four brothers.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Adams was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, officiated by the Revs. Matthew Alexander, Sh'Kur Francis and Michael Catoe. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family greeted friends from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mary Lee and Jerry Garris. Masks are requested.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lynwood United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 418, Lancaster, SC 29721.
