ELEANOR TOUPIN Obituary
ELEANOR TOUPIN
PRINCETON-Eleanor Toupin, 68, of Princeton, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Born on June 9, 1957, in the small town of Willcox, Arizona, she was the daughter of Pauline and Ysidoro Rodriguez. Eleanor was the loving wife of Kevin Toupin, and together they recently celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Eleanor was the adored sister of Sandra "Pat" Sierra, Eduardo Rodriguez, and Daniel Rodriguez. She was a devoted and loving mother to three beautiful daughters: Sara Toupin and her husband, Jonathan Salfield of Byron Bay, Australia; Patricia Toupin and her partner, Michael Mobilio of Holden, MA; and Anna Loretta and her husband, David Loretta of New Baltimore, NY. Eleanor will be deeply missed by her grandchildrenMaverick and Zyon Salfield; Gianna and Tahlia Mobilio; and Luca Loretta.
Eleanor was an extraordinary mother whose love knew no bounds. Her family was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment, and she never missed an opportunity to connect with her daughters, grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a quick wit, a gentle heart, and a love for the simple pleasures of life. A lifelong lover of crossword puzzles, Eleanor could often be found with a pen in hand and a cup of tea nearby, savoring quiet moments of peace. She was also known for her passion for holiday decorations. Halloween was a favorite, and she delighted in displaying her ceramic ghosts, haunted houses, and wooden witch. Every year, she dressed up and joyfully greeted children in costumes, always reminding parents, "You're never too old to trick or treat." Christmas held a special place in her heart as well, and she proudly collected Santa Claus statues to brighten her home each year. Through every season and celebration, Eleanor's warmth, humor, and love for life shone brightly, leaving lasting memories for everyone lucky enough to know her.
Eleanor also cherished her trips back to her hometown in Arizona to visit family and explore the local sights. She especially loved shopping in Bisbee and visiting Tombstone, enjoying the history and charm of each place. From her western roots, she had a deep love for 70s and 80s country music and never missed an opportunity to sing and dance.
Eleanor lived a life filled with strength, kindness, and a positive spirit that inspired everyone who knew her. For 13 years, she battled cancer with quiet determination and an unwavering faith in God. Through every challenge, she continued to smilea smile that could brighten any moment. Her deep faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted member and deacon of the First Congregational Church of Princeton, she found comfort, purpose, and lifelong friendship within its walls. The church was her place of sanctuary and reflection.
Eleanor's legacy and spirit will live on through all who loved her. Though she may be gone from sight, she will never be forgotten.
A service followed by a celebration of life for Eleanor will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Road, Princeton, MA. at 11am.
