Sidney Dean Obituary

Sidney "Sid" LeRoy Dean, 50, of Fife Lake, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. He was born Dec. 21, 1960 in Kalkaska.
He attended Kingsley schools. Sid was self-employed in the lumber industry. He was a true outdoorsman. Sid enjoyed hunting and going for rides. He always enjoyed the "scenic route" and spoiling his grandchildren.
Sid is survived by his parents, Frank and Marie (Ingersoll) Dean; children, Amber (Travis) Reimer of Traverse City, Joe Brooks of Kingsley, and Amanda Brooks of Buckley; grandchildren, Aubrey, Halle, Tegan, Tess, and Kane; three siblings, Susan (Scott) Covault of Kingsley, Steve Dean of Kingsley, Sheila (Dave) Ogan of Kingsley; loving companion Elsie Phillips; her children, Sandra Phillips of Buckley, Rebecca (Terry) Loveland of Polaski, Tenn., and Christine Phillips of Fife Lake; several step-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Sid was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew David Ogan.
Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 7 from 4-8 p.m. at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.
