Annie Laura Harper

Annie Laura Harper, age 93, passed away on July 29th, 2015 at her residence in Pleasant View, TN.

She was born on December 11th, 1921 to the late Andrew and Mary Lou Carrigan Baker in Cheatham County, TN. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Austin Harper; brothers, Roy, Henry and Leo Baker; and sisters, Rebecca Clifton and Christina Wortham.

She was a school teacher with a Masters' degree in education, and taught in the Clarksville school system for 35 years. After retiring from the school system, she worked in the deli at Wortham's Foodland for 15 years. She was a member of the Clarksville First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Lonnie Harper (Janet) of Pleasant View, TN; a daughter Judy Slate of Fort Valley, GA; four grandsons and several great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
