I have missed you since we parted as neighbors and friends many years ago. The time we spent as childhood friends will always be remembered. Was always impressed with the man you became and the great influence you had on the youth around you. Enjoy your new home. May God continue to bless those left in grief at your absence.

To the Family of "Football", may you continue life with joy and thanksgiving. It is with prayer may the eyes of your understanding and heart be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his comparably great power for those who believe (Ephesians 1:18-19 NIV). May peace surpasseth all understanding. Sharon Hoosier Poindexter & Family

It is with profound sadness that I pen thee words to the Shanklin family. I praise and thank God for putting Anthony in my path as He worked in God's vineyard. He was dedicated, committed child of God to the work of the Kingdom. I appreciated the fact that he took time to talk with and encourage the youth wherever he found himself. I know that Anthony is rejoicing with the angels, for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord...and that is where he aspired to be.

God bless each of you richly and I pray that you continue to keep your hands in the hands of the One who can keep you and wipe all the tears from your eyes.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Anthony "Football" Shanklin was one of the shining stars in the Montgomery County 4-H Program. His smile and fun spirit along with his desire to do his best were always an inspiration to his fellow 4-H peers. Anthony was loved by anyone who met him and I was certainly no exception. He came into my life as a 6th grade student in his Moore Elementary 4-H Club. His determination, kind spirit and positive attitude are something that I will never forget. He was one of my favorite 4-H members and I will miss his sweet, sweet spirit. God Bless his family and may he place his loving arms around you and give you comfort during this very sad time for you. While Anthony is not here with us now his spirit and our wonderful memories of him are in our hearts. Thanks so much for being such a special man in my life, Anthony. You taught me to persevere and to keep smiling. May God Bless You and your family.

To Uel and The Shanklin,Ogburn,Gilliam,Sergent Families...My heart is heavy and there are no words to express my sorrow at this time. "Football" was a hard working man and always wanted to do the best he could including raising his nephew(Uel).I'm sure "Football" will be doing many things in "Heaven as he did on Earth". Therefore,God has called him home to rest for awhile before his next project begins.I don't know if it will be Singing,Taking Pictures, Directing,Organizing, or Helping the Lord with "Aunt Fannie","Big Mama" or "Big Girl". But whatever it is,"Football" will do it with expertise. I thank God for allowing my path to cross with "The Entire Family" who are indeed Christians and Believers. He will forever be missed but his smile will never be forgotten. Continue to soar butterfly and transition into your new set of wings. I will continue to pray for the family not only today but also the days ahead.
Love to All and God Bless
