Although it's been close to 45 years since I served under the command of First Sergeant G.T. Wright, I have always remembered him as the best leader a trooper could have. Truly a great man and a great leader who provided a great service for our country.

Although I've not lived in Clarksville for almost twenty years, every time I return, I'm always reminded of Garland and Bonanza. My mother worked at the Singer Company at Two Rivers Mall, and we always considered Garland our friend, and enjoyed dining "with him". My significant other and I also knew him as a merchant, as well as through a fraternal organization. Wherever he was, whatever he did, he was always the epitome of a "Southern Gentleman". The world would be a much, much better place if there were Garland Wright's in it today.....a legacy which speaks for itself.

Vicky and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Rachel and I were at the funeral and thought it awkward to talk to you in such a time of mourning and although it has been quite a few years since we have seen each other or spoken, we remember you, your brother and your dad from the Ponderosa days. I know, believe me I do, that it hurts but, know that he is not suffering or in pain any more and waiting for everyone to be with him one day. Rachel and I are here in Clarksville if you want to talk or get some dinner or something and again, we are so very sorry for the loss of your Dad, I remember a very sweet man that cared and was VERY well liked.

i am velda humphrey allen, clem humphrey's daughter, from mcgehee arkansas. daddy doesn't have internet but i will do my best to express him. i have heard daddy thru all my years (53 in fact) talk about mr wright and how fond he was of him and how much fun they had during their years of military service (and with all his army buddies). daddy will be very saddened when i give him this news. i met mr wright once at the 2003(?)reunion and he was a very nice man. i enjoyed his presence and entertainment at his home. love from the humphrey family.
