Glenn Buck Obituary

Glenn Franklin Buck, 72, Clarksville, died Saturday, July 18, 2009, at his residence.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Kirkwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell Allen, Rev. Ed Manners and Rev. J. Ray Mullen officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM today at the funeral home and from 12:00 PM until the hour of service Tuesday at the church.
Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Nov. 21, 1936 in Montgomery County Kirkwood Community, son of William Edward Buck and Elizabeth Benton Buck.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Edward Dee Buck.
He was the retired owner of Bucks Body Shop and a farmer. He was a graduate of CHS 1957, All American in sophomore and junior years in football, State Championship in Football in 1955. He was a member and deacon of Kirkwood Baptist church, Board of Directors of Montgomery Conversation Club and recipient of the Lester Solmon Award in 2005.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Mullen Buck, of Clarksville, one daughter Melody Fleming of Ashland City, two sons David Glenn (Mary P) Buck, Jay Buck (Lori) Buck, one sister Betty R. Buck, two grandchildren Tyler Emmett Jackson and Presley Abigail Buck all of Clarksville.
Pallbearers will be Mark Arms, Chris Bible, Daniel Hightower, James P'Pool, Kyle Cauley, Denzil P'Pool, Herbert "Pee Wee" Stanley, John W. Allensworth, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Class of 1957 Football Team of CHS.

I only yesterday learned of Mr. Buck's passing. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know it has been some time, but I remember him fondly. Hope you all have found comfort in knowing he is no longer sick, suffering or in any way in ill health. David, Melody and Jay, I know you will miss your daddy. Mrs. Margaret take care of yourself.

Mr. Buck will truly be missed at the Montgomery County Conservation Club. I have enjoyed many hours sitting and listening to his vivid memories of growing up in Kirkwood. To listen to him would make you want to step back in time because of the happiness in his voice. He was a trooper!

Margaret and Family == I have been honored to know and call Glen a friend thru and since High School. We have shared many good times some not so good times. He was a man always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. I shall miss him and the world is a poorer place with his passing.....

May God bless the entire Buck family in this time of grief and sorrow. May God put his hand on your shoulders and guide you through these trying times. Clarksville will miss this good man. It is just not the same when I come home to visit. I know a few Wildcat team mates were there to greet Glen at his new home. Glen it was just a pleasure to know you and play on the same teams with you.
