Chuck, Lee and Daltan,
I am so sorry for your loss. I hope in time you can take comfort in the cherished memories of all the special and every day times with Kathleen. She touched the lives of so many people and even now people she never met are remembering her and celebrating her unique life.
My best friends lost their 23 year old son 4 years ago. Like Kathleen, he was talented, generous, bright and kind. As a parent you are proud to think you have put your child on a path to a successful adult life, then this trajedy is an almost unbearable blow. You are forever changed and will always feel her loss, and as time passes, you endure. You will think of her every day throughout the day, and my hope is you can find comfort in each other, knowing Kathleen would want you to love and cherish one another as she cherished you all.
You all are in my prayers. Love, Susie Brown (CHS class of 1974)

Dear Chucky,
I cannot tell you how my heart goes out to you, Lee and Dalton as you deal with Kathleen's tragic death. Nothing is more difficult than losing a child as well as losing a loved one in an accident. You are now dealing with both realities. May you feel the comfort of all the love and prayers that surround you. May God be with you all. Love, Elizabeth Rankin Geitz

My family met the Beach family during Parent's Orientation at Sewanee just a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful summer evening on the lawn of Sterling's Coffee Shop that we all shared a picnic table and listened to a jazz ensemble. Kathleen sort of took my daughter under her wing later that night as they went off to meet and hang out with other classmates. My husband and I stayed a little while longer with Lee Ellen, Chuck and Daltan as we thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with them. The following afternoon Lee Ellen sat next to me during our final orientation session. We shared some chuckles over our tearful selves as we were being oriented in letting our daughters go into this next leg of their life's journey. That brief encounter at such a significant time has now been magnified in my heart and mind as I can only imagine the grief Lee Ellen is experiencing. My heart is broken; and as was shared in the memorial service on Sunday, may Lee Ellen now keep a piece of my heart with her always. What special and delightful people you are.

Lee Ellen, Chuck, Daltan, Thayer, the entire Beach family and Parker family, I am heartsick over this tragedy. Watching Kathleen grow up from a little girl @ NEHS, Trinity, and RHS and being honored to be her teacher twice during her high school career was a treat (and now sweet Daltan!). Her wonderful way with words never ceased to amaze me as she bantered with her friends about politics, environmental causes, or where the best place to grab food in Clarksville was. She made my life richer, and she will never be forgotten by anyone whose life she touched. I truly know what you are going through, and I will do all I can to be there for you as much as you need or want. I know she is shining her star on another level, of that I have no doubt. I love you all. Martha

Words alone could never express my "heartfelt sympathy" I send to you at this time. It was a pleasure to watch Kathleen grow from a "teenager to a young lady" while attending Rossview High School. I will remember Kathleen the most for being so "calm" before a speech competition at any level. She knew she was prepared and had done her best. It was a honor for me to witness her accomplishments as she would return to school with her trophies, plaques, and always "wearing a smile." She was never one to brag or flaunt. She was a very strong competitor, but if I ever had to describe Kathleen in one word I would use the word "humble." She just seemed to care about those around and how well they were going to do. This told me that "Kathleen wanted to be up against the best" and once again, that is just where she is now.....up against the best.
