MSG Dial Obituary
MSG (Retired) Roy Bernard Dial, age 76 of Clarksville, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Clarksville Manor.
He was born July 19, 1935 in Columbia, TN, the son of Andrew Jack and Lillie Mai Beard Dial. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Dial; one step son, Mark Atkins; one brother, Comer Dial; one sister, Mai Dial Oakley; two nephews, Rayburn and Authur Oakley.
Roy is survived by his wife, Joyce Wade Dial of Clarksville; one son, Gerald Dial of Clarksville; two step sons, Scott Atkins of SC and Jeff Atkins of Clarksville; three nephews, Andy and Dean Dial, both of Columbia, TN, Willard Oakley and two nieces, Connie Riechman and Anita Johnson(Kenny); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Roy retired from the U.S. Army as Master Sergeant after 24 years, and later work civil service at Ft. Campbell.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Rev. B.J. Brack officiating. Burial at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West, Hopkinsville, KY with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
