Terri was a professional in all aspects of her work life. I am proud to have known her and to have worked with her. She touched the lives of many students and her impact will be felt for decades to come. I know she is with our Lord but I pray for her family. May God provide them with comfort and refuge in the days to come!

We are sending our condolences, thoughts and prayers to the family and friends. My son is a former student and now a Marine and posted about Mrs Hightower late last night. I would like the family to know just how special she was to everyone that had an opportunity to be in her presence. The following is from my sons own words. “just found out one of my most influential teachers in high school has passed away.. Mrs Hightower was a blessing to not only myself, but thousands of other children who are now out there, giving everything they have got to save the lives of those in need. The distance and direction she gave me, was one of the reasons I am where I am today, and I can say that with 100% truthfulness. She was one of the brightest, and most lively women, and teacher I could have ever known, and her personality shined on the lives of every student, and peer that crossed paths with her. Theresa Hightower, a EMS legend, a mother, and an inspiration to so many. I will forever be grateful to the things she has taught me, and the influence that she had on my life. And to anyone who has been blessed enough to have known this woman, dont take people lightly, because you never know if you'll see them again tomorrow....
She was fighting ALS.. and I honestly never had any idea, because every time I would see this woman, she always had such a bright smile on her face... she was always laughing, and making everyone's day brighter with her dark sense of humor. Its amazing, being given the gift of going to school every day to walk into her classroom, and share the bond between not just a teacher and a student, but between a mentor and mentee. Someone who helped me steer myself towards success. I job shadowed her for the last 2 classes of the day, along with a handful of other students that were taking her EMS course, as part of the health science academy, senior year at Northwest High School. Those last two periods of instruction, of all my years of school, helped me find myself and what I wanted to do better than any other class or any other year in my school life. And all because of this woman. She went out of her way to help me, someone who wasn't even a part of her class, find my road, and take it with a stone fist... shes an angel in disguise.“ ~Bradley Pavlicek~
