Uncle Eddie will live forever as I keep him in my memories. He and Aunt Laurine had a way of making me feel special whenever I stayed over their house in Marlboro.(For a kid from the city, man, that was the country! I couldn't sleep at night, the crickets kept me awake!)
Ed will always be one of the "good guys" in my mind. I don't recall him ever saying anything bad about anyone.
I have conjured up a memory, maybe it's real, maybe not. It centers around our dining room table, a card game with my Dad, Uncle Ed, Uncle Bill, Uncle Bruce(?)and maybe even Pa. I can still see the cigarette and cigar smoke curling up around the overhead lamp. It is easy to remember all the bantering going back and forth between the guys as they joked and razzed one another. There were alot of laughs as I sat there watching and listening. And Ed held his own with the rest of them. What a witty bunch of guys, I thought.
They all had their good qualities but I always felt there was something special about Ed. There always will be.
With much love and appreciation for the small amounts of time I have gotten to spend with him.

If there was a book entitled "How To Be The Best"and the first chapter was called "Big Brothers", Eddie Condon would be the first name. Walter loved Ed and cherished him and his brotherly advice. Not only was he Walter's big brother but was his best friend. They had so much fun when they got together. I remember one time they were sitting together and they were laughing so hard, tears were in their eyes and they lost their breath. I never really understood what was so funny but got the distinct feeling that it was a "brother thing" and "you had to be there". Eddie was there for me when Walter died and was a great comfort to me and a big brother to me. Eddie was and will be always loved by us. May you rest in peace, Ed, and may God hold you in the palm of His hand. All our love, Pauline, Cheryl, Sean and families --- East Haven, CT

Uncle Ed loved and was loved by many! This past week I remembered dearly the cookouts at his home in Marlboro and then the the open door policy in Florida! Jim, Jimmy and I certainly took Ed and Laurine up on this on quite a few occasions! Ed even went with Jim and Jimmy on the college circuit one year. During Spring Training, we would stay with Ed and Laurine and times when we couldn't make it to the house, Ed and Laurine would make the trip to the Ball Parks to watch their grand nephew, Jimmy, play baseball and to spend some time with us! His love, humor, hospitality and candor will be missed but never, ever forgotten!

Forever in our hearts!

Love from Jim, Joannie, Sean and Jimmy Pierce
