Auto Worker
LAKELAND - Gary M. Meadows, 68, died on September 13, 2008 due to a motorcycle accident.
He was born on January 21, 1940 in Leachville, Arkansas. He was a resident of Lakeland since 2000, formerly of Flint, Michigan. He was a retired auto worker where he retired after 30 years of service with General Motors. Mr. Meadows was a member of the First Baptist Church of Highland City. He most recently worked for the Polk County Sheriff's Office as a crossing guard for Highland City Elementary School.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Meadows, his sons, Gary Wesley Meadows & Scott Eugene Meadows both of Lakeland, his daughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Sparks & her husband Jim of Flint, Michigan, his sisters, Carole Grady of Paragould, Arkansas & Gail Rodgers of Everett, Michigan, his brother Ronnie L. Meadows, Flint, MI., 4 grandchildren, Justin Wesley, Cheyenne Nicole, Ken S. & Raymond Alan Meadows.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 from 1 00 PM to 3 00 PM & 6 00 PM to 8 00 PM at Lakeland Funeral Home. A service will follow on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 10 00 AM. at First Baptist Church of Highland City. An online guest book is available at www.lakelandfuneralhome.com

Sherry and I were shocked to learn of the accident that led to Gary's homegoing. We are thankful he was prepared because he knew the Lord. Words cannot express how shocked and saddened we were to hear of Gary's passing. We will always remember him as a fun-loving guy whose growing maturity in Christ was an encouragement to many. We have the comfort of knowing that he is safely in the arms of Jesus and the assurance of seeing him again in heaven. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
