ROBINSON, M.D., 83
LAKELAND - Harold G. Robinson, M.D., 83, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City after a brief illness. Dr. H.G. was born October 22, 1933, in Rochester, Kentucky, the oldest son of Aubrey and Edna Robinson. He served in the Army after obtaining his high school diploma and met his future wife, Bonnie Oliver, on a blind date in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was employed by General Electric. Bonnie and Harold were married on May 30, 1957, in Louisville, and were married for 35 years before her death in 1992. Harold graduated from the University of Louisville Medical School in 1963.
The Robinsons moved to Rome, Georgia, and several years later to Lakeland, where Dr. H.G. practiced family medicine until the week before his death, the last 20+ years in practice with his son, Dr. Todd Robinson.
He is survived by his three children: Cathy (Tom Sokolski), Todd (Tami), and 'Bitsy' Dawn; grandchildren Stephanie (Craig Cunningham), Samantha, Shelli, Staci (Trevor Bates), Cathy Dawn, Jessica, Chase, Brooke, Caleb, Paige, Cole, and Rose; one great-grandchild, Charlotte; sisters Betty Steele and Judy Ray; sister-in-law Dimple 'Dee' Tosh; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws.
Dr. H.G. enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, Saturday breakfasts at Fat Jacks, Thursday lunches at Beef O'Brady's and spending time with his family. He loved his patients and especially enjoyed seeing his young patients grow up and return with their children.
The viewing will be held at Christ Community Presbyterian Church, Lakeland, Florida, on Friday, January 6, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Services will also be held at Christ Community on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CRU to assist Dr. H.G.'s granddaughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Craig, as they work with college students in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. https://give.cru.org/0628891.

It was my privilege to have been treated by this fine Doctor. He made a difference in my life like no other; life changing. I don't know where I would be today if not for his expertise. I will miss him dearly. His memory will remain strong through his wisdom and kindness.

Went into the doctor's office today and in the lobby saw my precious doctor's picture, obituary and and open Bible on a small table. I hadn't heard of his passing so I immediately became overcome with emotion. While I am greatly saddened by his loss, we shall not mourn as the heathen do, for I know he knew our Lord Jesus. Dr. HG was the most wonderfully caring, patient and kind physician I'd ever met. He will be terribly missed in this life, by myself and so many others. Prayers for his family. Rest in peace, Dr. HG.

Wow!What a shock to call the office and find out about Doctor H.
The thing I admired him for the most: He was quick to speak of God and never afraid to tell people about "Him"!
He will be greatly missed!
May the family rest knowing that he is with The Lord and you will see him again... as will all of us that are redeemed by the blood of Jesus!

I am so sad to hear about Dr. HG. Dr. HG was such a special, wise and kind man and Doctor. My son and I truly loved him and respected him and his practice. We will miss him terribly. I'm praying for Dr. Todd and all of Dr. H's family.

Dr Robinson has been such a blessing to my family since I first saw him in 1988. He not only took care of me and my children but my granddaughter as well! Such a man of God and great encourager when he had to deliver less than positive news. Gone but not forgotten. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Undoubtedly one of the smartest doctors God provided to us. As eager to catch a fish as he was to provide the best medical care for me. His family was blessed by his living 83 years the way he wanted.

Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Robinson. Few times in a lifetime does someone touch and care for people as much as Dr. Robinson. He cared for not only myself and my family as I was a child, but after I married he cared for our family as well. He was quick to diaganose, but always took time to explain what was going on, in today's fast pace world he was a breath a fresh air. Lakeland has lost a great man and he will truly be missed.

Dr. Robinson was my trusted Doctor for many years ever since I moved here to Lakeland. He was always so kind and helpful. I always walked out of his office and knew I was in good hands. I could call and he would always find the time to see me. I could always call him at home if I needed him. He was an amazing Doctor and friend. I will miss him so very much. Me and my whole family loved him dearly. He is now with the Lord.

He was our whole family's Doctor and Friend for 35 years. He was so caring and considerate that at times we felt like he was part of our family. He always asked about everyone and knew my whole family. He kept us all healthy the natural way and to this day I do not take any medications. We will all miss you so much Dr. Robinson.

Dr. HG was our family doctor from 1971 when we arrived in Lakeland. He was also a friend for that many years. I enjoyed our fishing and skeet shooting trips together and will miss him greatly.
