LAKELAND - Mrs. Hilda Covington Tarver, age 77, died of cancer Saturday Sept. 29, 2007 .
Hilda came to Lakeland from Augusta, GA., in 1957, and was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Winter Haven Hospital as a radiographic technician in the oncology department after many years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Tarver was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy "Jerome" Tarver. She is survived by sons, Hewett A. Tarver and wife, Paula and their daughter Kayla, Valrico, FL., Bruce A. Tarver, Lakeland.
A gathering in her honor will be held Wednesday 6-8p.m. at Lanier Funeral Home chapel.

Please accept my sympathy on the passing of Hilda. I have such great memories of our times during the 2-year radiography program. She was kind and considerate, but what I remember most of all was her fun-loving spirit. I know that she touched many lives during her time on this earth.
