JEANA GLOVER Obituary
JEANA FAYE SANDERS GLOVER
BARTOW - Jeana will be remembered by so many people - and all will remember her for different reasons.
Born in Dumas, Texas, on February 10, 1943, she was the daughter of Eugene and Julia Faye (Tootsie) Spivey Sanders. She was the oldest of 9 children, Donna, Eugene Jr., Don, John, James, Duane, Robert and Dovie. A loving wife, she and her high school sweetheart, Sanford Glover, eloped in 1961. June would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary. When asked, she would tell you the secret to a good marriage was 'a whole lot of love and sheer determination.' Jeana was a wonderful mother and mother-in-law to Debi (Phillip) Smith, Eric (September 16 - November 12, 1966), Terisa and Belinda (Jake) Dodd. Also, a 'son,' Gunnar Jordal, an exchange student who became a part of the family his junior year in high school. Known as Gammy to Jessica Smith, William Pintye, and Rhett Corbett and (Great) Grandma to Auston and Juliya Nickerson and Colton Pintye. As the keeper of the family history and love of genealogy, she was always ready with a camera, or an appointment with a photographer. With a beautiful smile, mischievous smirk, wonderful sense of humor, and generous heart, Jeana was a loyal friend who never seemed to meet a stranger, and many of those friends became family. In every place that they lived, she was an avid community volunteer - from PTAs and women's groups to Girl Scouts and the local children's museum, she put her full heart and many talents into every moment and task before her. Creative and resourceful, she could do just about anything she put her mind to. She and Sanford worked hand in hand to see beyond the evident to sculpt and transfer overgrown, abandoned land in Homeland, into a beautifully landscaped home. Her talents and hobbies included home decorating, gardening, sewing, cooking, crafting, and genealogy. From sewing for the public to decorating cakes, taking care of children to selling crafts, she always found a way to find the funds to add to her 'mad money' for special adventures. She was a collector of memories - from quilts and dolls to perfumes and toys. She was the most sentimental person you would ever meet. Everything was precious to her - from furniture and toys that her father made to a rolling pin her mother carved, quilts from her grandmother to gifts made by her children and grandchildren. And pictures. OH! The pictures! Jeana loved her pearls and she loved butterflies, but, most of all, she loved her Sanford, her girls, her grand and great grandchildren, and would do anything for them. Jeana had stories to tell and told them well. How we would love to hear them again and see that smile just one more time. She left this world from her home on the morning of March 10, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She will be in our hearts forever.
Proverbs 31:10
