SCHABERG, 77
LAKE WALES - JoAnn Schaberg, 77, of Lake Wales passed away Friday February 12, 2010 at the Lake Wales Medical Center due to Respiratory Failure.
She was born February 13, 1932 in Grand Rapids, MI to Wilmot & Helen Benson Pruyne. She came to Lake Wales from Midland, Michigan in 1990. She was a Teacher in the public school system, Volunteer at the Lake Wales Care Center enjoyed Golfing was an avid reader, and a member of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Lake Wales.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her Father, Wilmot Pruyne. Survivors include her Husband, J. Ralph Schaberg of Lake Wales; Daughters, Julia Root and husband Greg of Plainwell, MI; Jennifer Poling and husband Mark of Portland, OR; Sons, Mark Schaberg and wife Julia of Paducah, KY; Chris Schaberg and wife Sally of Belmont, MI; Mother, Helen Pruyne of Midland, MI; Sister, Jean Karpicke of Sanford, MI; Brother, Wilmot Pruyne of Naperville, IL; 10 Grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, February 19, 2010 at the South Shore Resort Clubhouse with Fr. Thomas Seitz, Jr officiating. Donations may be made to the Lake Wales Care Center.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I pray the Lord will give you the strength to get thru each day as you adjust your life. It's not easy as I am still dealing with Charley's death. One day at a time and God bless you and all of your family.

Mr. Schaberg, I was so sorry to hear about Joann. I have a lot of memories about spending time at your house when I was a young girl. I was a good friend of your daughter Julie, and remember what a loving home you always had when the kids were growing up. Sending you my sympathy.

Dear Ralph and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of sorrow. I was so very sad to read of JoAnn's passing in today's issue of the Midland Daily News. JoAnn was a loving mother, blessed wife, and wonderful teacher. I remember her very fondly when our children were growing up. Hopefully your wonderful memories will help to sustain your family during this very sad time. I truly think of all of you every time I drive by your former house on Sugnet. May the Lord's blessings and guidance help you through this time of grief.
