I just found out this morning that Joe had passed away. I am very sorry to hear this news. I have lots of memories of Joe from HS. He and I would be in Mrs. Murray's class and when he wanted to say something I'd spell the words out as best I could so others could understand what he was saying. I remember the last day of HS leaving the school.. As I remember he seemed all happy and excited and I was the other end of the spectrum. I haven't seen Joe in years, which is mostly my fault, but know that he will be missed by those who knew him.

Mrs. Peggy and family,
I was so sadden to hear Joe has left us. I was blessed to care for Joe while he had a stay on B4 at LRMC.
Peggy, you were such a inspiration to me. I was a nursing student at that time and it was our sweet talks and heart to hearts that gave me the confidence to keep moving forward.
Joe was my first patient that ever stole my heart. Thank you for allowing me to care for him. Thank you for all that you did. True hero in my eyes.
Praying for you and your family.

To the family of Joe Fernandez:
As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I still smile when I think about our Friday Scrabble Tournaments .Spelling wasn't your thing but you blew everyone out of the water with your math skills. I knew you would do well in life.
Rest In Peace Joe.
