Lynne's enthusiasm for hands-on learning will continue to inspire many teachers as they plan lessons of lasting significance. I enjoyed the HOPS programs with my students for years, and know that the people who carry it forward in her name will try to model their presentation after hers.
Lynne made tremendous contributions to education in Florida & will be remembered by all of us who had the privilege of working with her.

I was honored work with Lynne as a fellow teacher at Combee, and I enjoyed her HoPS programs many times at other schools. She was a wonderful teacher. The students of Polk County will miss her greatly.

I will miss Lynne. Not only did she teach my children at Lime Street Elementary, but she helped guide me through being the gifted teacher at now Philip O'Brien Elementary. She was an inspiration to all and a guiding light in helping establish the gifted program at Lime Street Elementary and the other schools she served.

Dear Locke Family,
Lynne is so awesome. I had the honor of knowing her for over 15-years. My now 24-year old daughter took art lessons from her in her little backyard studio in Lakeland years ago. We taught Super Summer Science together and later she was my teacher, when she taught aspiring gifted education teachers working towards gifted certification. She is and remains an inspiration to the many people who have known Lynne throughout her life.

Dan and Family,
I am sorry for your loss. I have heard about the HOPS lady, long before I became a gifted teacher. I feel priviledged to have met her last year. Her mission to engage students creatively has been a success. We will surely miss her in our HOPS competitions this year.

Mrs. Locke practically took me by the hand and we traveled to many a gifted meeting and conference. She was extrememly kind and showed me the ins and outs of gifted education. For that, I will be forever grateful. After receiving my endorsement, she and I still communicated from time to time. She will be missed for her being such a generous and compassionate person.

Dear Family,
I feel so privileged to have known Lynne through the HOPS program. What a dynamo! She was by far, the most creative person I've ever met.
May God keep her in the palm of his hands and give you all the peace in knowing she's spreading her cheer in heaven.

Dan, Kris & Family--what a special lady you were privileged to love and live with these many years. Lynne was a special gal, kind, creative, loving, great wit, fun. Her family was her biggest love, but man, she could teach, too! Be proud and live well in her memory, xo,
