Mike Piney Obituary

MIKE L.
PINEY, 52

LAKELAND - Mike L. Piney, 52, passed away Sunday, January 9th 2011 due to injuries received in a motorcycle accident.
He was born in Jersey Shore, PA to James B and Geraldine Kline Piney. Mike was raised in Avis, PA with his brother Bob and sister Joni, and graduated from Jersey Shore High School. He moved to Florida in 1980.
Mike was loved by so many people and will be very deeply missed. He was always there for everyone no matter what. You could call Mike and ask for help, and he would say "where and when" and always with a smile on his face. We are all now left with a void that will be hard to fill.
He loved hunting and fishing, watching and attending NASCAR races, but the past few years his true love and passion was riding his Harley. He loved the open road.
Mike is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda of Lakeland, FL, sister Joni Piney of Avis, PA, niece, Wendy Stewart and her husband Michael and their children Trevor and Madisson, nephews: Randy Piney and his wife Sondra and their children Alyssa and Zack, Scott Piney, James Piney and his fiancée Julie Miller, Brian Piney and his girlfriend Amy Bodolay, all of Lakeland, FL.
Services for Mike L. Piney will be Saturday at 2PM at St Paul's Lutheran Church on Harden Blvd and then we will take him home to PA at a later date.
"I hope wherever he is, the road goes on forever and the party never ends".
"We will miss you Mikey".

Classmates from Jersey Shore High School heard of the passing of Mike and were saddened and shocked. I did not know Mike real well but I do remember him from high school. What I remember most is his smile, he had a nice smile. My husband and I also love riding our Harley and it is nice to know that is something Mike loved too. We are so sorry to hear of his passing and have thought of him often this past week. Another one of our classmates (Garry Ripka) died this past week, losing his battle to Leukemia. His service is Saturday at 2:00 also. May they both rest in peace and know that we will miss them. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the Piney family.
