It is with great fondness that I remember Mr. Christy...the fabulous Nick. I have many happy memories of him but the one I'd like to share is how he comforted me at a time of deep personal loss.
Fifteen years ago, within a short span of time, both my husband and my mother died. Nick knew them both and there was much joyful rapport between all of them. When I came in ALONE to eat after their deaths, Nick sat in the booth and wept with me. Such a dear man with a wide open heart. I was grateful for his real expression of sympathy at my time of sadness.
So now, I extend that to you, his family. Nick will never die -- he lives (BIG) in all our hearts.
Very sincerely,

Uncle Nick will be so missed not only by the community but the whole family. There are to many good memories and love to list. The kindest he and Aunt Ann, showed to people, often anonomous,is a lessons we all can learn from. The comforting thing to me, is knowing his precious Grandson, and family was there to great him. We look to the day when God calls us home and know all will be there for the big family reunion. God speed my sweet Uncle, rest in peace our fellow Orthodox Brother. All my Love, Elaine-Pilafas- Geschke Atlanta, Georgia

Ann, I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Christy was a wonderful man and one who was loved so much. My son, Kevin, always had great respect for "Mr. C" when and after he worked at the restaurant. My prayers are with you and the family.

Uncle Nick was one of a kind, funny, kind and generous. My dad and him would talk daily telling stories that they had told hundreds of times, and laugh like it had just happened yesterday. One of my fondest memories was the Christopulos reunion back in the early 90's. All of the siblings were there and the stories and jokes that were told between my dad (Tony), Uncle Nick and Uncle Bob were classic at best. Aunt Ann, Anthony, Patrick & Annick, I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Nick was a kind and generous soul. Find peace, solace and strength in all of the many memories you have.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I love you.

Nick was the best..."How you doing?" was a great welcome. He always asked "How's the family?" There are so many memories that we enjoyed together at Christy's for over 40 years. My father Bob "Bugsy " Segal & Nick had a close relationship from supporting Winter Haven's businesses, the involvement with the Red Sox as well as sharing their interest in the building of St. Sophia & Temple Beth Shalom as they became a realily. His presence will be greatly missed and will always be part of our life memories. Our sincere condolences to all of the Family. Our thoughts & prayers are with you, Debra, Kim, Jett & Maris Segal.

We are so sorry to hear that Nick passed away. Christy's Sundown was our all time favorite restaurant. We even had our wedding reception there and went back for anniversaries. So many good memories. Christy's was one of a kind, just like Nick. It was so nice when he made the rounds to say hi to all the guests and handed out roses to the ladies. Truely special.

May time bring confort to your hearts during this difficult time.

My parents frequented Christy's in the late 50's during business trips to Bartow from Chicago! "Uncle Nick" was what I called him, because his nephew Georgie and I were best of friends, when Georgie managed the restaurant years ago. I used to frequent the lounge during the days w Freddie as DJ. Even bartended one night during one of Nick's dinner parties around the pool. Will always remember the cigar in his hand, usually not lit, and the "How ya doin'" to everyone at their tables. Will miss you, a Winter Haven icon. Our thought and prayers are with the family.

Dear Ann, Anthony, Patrick,& Annick, you lost a beloved husband, a father, and a grandfather, and we all lost a brother, and uncle to so many, that we loved dearly. We named our oldest son after him, & he named his only son after Tony. Nobody we'll ever forget brother Nick, he was unique, the nephews used to imitate him, especially, his famous, "How you doing Man". The memories of Nick and the stories will never end, and will be repeated every time we get together for many years long after we are gone, by our children and grandchildren that knew and loved their uncle Nick.My husband Tony, and Nick spend hours on the phone repeating stories, that we had all heard, and they would laugh and laugh. Nick had an amazing memory of names, and was so well informed of events past and present. He adored his wife Ann, son Anthony, and grandson Patrick, granddaughter Annick. Oh God, Nick how are we going to say Good Buy to you. We'll always love you, we'll never forget you. May your memory be eternal!
Good Buy,

I have so many wonderful memories of special family events..graduations, dinner before Prom, a nephew's wedding reception...all made more special because Mr. Christy stopped by to make sure everything was wonderful and that his staff was taking good care of you. I don't believe a finer Restauranteur has ever lived. Thank you for the special place you provided and for the memories. You will missed.

My wife Debbie and I are saddened by the passing of Mr. Christy. My parents were friends with him and several years ago my wife and I went there on our anniversary and he still took the rose out of the vase and laid in on her plate. What a great individual. He will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.
