Paul Sammon Obituary

PAUL SAMMON, 80 Sales Manager WINTER PARK - Paul Sammon passed away Monday Jan. 15, 2007 at his residence due to respiratory failure. Mr. Sammon was born in Lakeland on Sept. 12, 1926 and moved his family to Winter Park in 1965. He was a sales manager for Heidrich & Sons citrus sales for 35 years. Mr. Sammon is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winter Park. He lettered in baseball in 1945 at the University of Florida and also attended Florida Southern College. Mr. Sammon formerly coached in Lakeland Little League, was an avid sports fan, as well as, a lover of big band and jazz music. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth (Lank) Sammon, son, Pete Sammon of St. Cloud, daughters; Nanette Cason of Worthington Springs, Fl, Melissa Weatherford of Spring, Tx, Mary Crownover of Orlando, sister, Mary Nancy Sammon Conley of Darien, Ct. and 12 Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Hospice of the Comforter, 480 W. Central Pkwy., Altamonte Springs, Fl. 32714. Funeral Services will be conducted Fri. 1:00 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd., Lakeland. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.

It was my honor to care for Mr. Sammon in the last days of his life. He was a kind a gentle man. My prayers go out to Mrs. Sammon, Pete, Nanette, Missy and Mary. May God be with you.
