LAKELAND - Paul William Youngblood, age 58, of Lakeland, Florida passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to heart failure.
Paul was born on July 17, 1949, in Anderson, South Carolina. He had owned and operated an acoustics tile business in Lakeland for several years before health issues forced early retirement. He continued to stay busy working on small projects at his rural property in Polk County after retirement.
An avid sportsman, Paul was an air boater, hunter, fisherman, and motorcycle rider during his lifetime. He had many friends throughout the Lakeland area whose friendship he greatly cherished. He attended the Berea Baptist Church in Auburndale.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Youngblood, step-father, Herman Glisson. Paul is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda Youngblood of Lakeland; his mother, Ruth Hewitt of Dade City, FL, a brother, Lynn Glisson of Zephyrhills, FL, stepson, Jeff Brown of Lakeland. Also his in-laws were as close to Paul, they include his mother-in-law, Mary E. Brown of Winter Garden, FL, and brother-in-law, Dwight and Gloria Brown of Indialantic, FL.
Funeral visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Kersey Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with the Reverend Brad Bennett officiating. Interment will be held Friday, December 28, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Winter Park, Florida.
Donations in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
