Peggy Stone Obituary

PEGGY JOYCE
STONE

LAKELAND - Mrs. Peggy Joyce Stone went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 6, 2017. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Brownsville, Tennessee to Alsey 'Peabody' and Mildred Lovelace. She was a long time resident of Polk County, Florida.
She loved all animals, especially her precious 'Pee Pee,' who still wanders through the home searching for her. He could not sleep unless part of him was touching part of her.
Mrs. Stone never met a stranger, loved to talk and was always willing to go over and beyond the call of duty to help a friend in need. She enjoyed going to casino and playing her favorite game, 'The Golden 7's' and was actually quite good at what her family called her 'part time job.' She was the glue that held her family together and she will be so missed by who knew and loved her.
She instilled so many qualities into her children, especially the ability and fulfillment of bringing a smile to another person's face. That in itself brought her much happiness.
Peggy was a blunt person who believed in speaking her mind, regardless of what that might have been. She was real. She lived her life the way she chose and once you met her, you knew that you would never meet another one like her. She lived her life to the fullest.
Her family gives Praise to God above for allowing them the time they had with this amazing, beautiful lady. She was more than wife, mother, or grandparent, she was our inspiration.
Mrs. Peggy Joyce Stone will be forever missed by her loving family, husband of 46 years Benny Stone, daughters: Ronice Brooks and Lynn Goodwin (Larry); sons: James Dean Shaw (Alicia), Robert Powers, and Gary Stone, her sister Annette Bright (Lawrence), along with God blessing her with 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one on the way, as well as 2 great-great grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and three grandsons: William H. Jackson, Christopher Michael Fischer, and Ronald L. Jackson, Jr.
A visitation will be held at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL, from 3-4pm followed by a service at 4pm on Wednesday July 12, 2017. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens.

My Beautiful Mother,
There are so many things that I am going to miss about you but the most important one is our daily talks and your words of wisdom and love. You have taken most of what is left of my heart with you. I will do my best to make your proud and continue as best I can without my "best friend". There are no words I can say that I already have not told you before. But please, I beg of you, do not ever forget how much I love and admire you. Thank you from the bottom of my Heart for helping mold me into the woman I have become. My life is forever changed and nothing and I do mean nothing will ever be the same for me without you here with me. I will do my best to watch over Jimmy, Robert and Gary. And Pee Pee is still searching for you. Perhaps time will help Pee Pee, but it will do nothing for me, I already know. Tell my precious sons that their mother loves and misses them. Enjoy your new forever home and I pray that your room is large enough for the both of us to share when God calls me home. Until I see you again Mom, I will be forever missing you. More than you would probably believe. You can finally RIP, free of any pain or agony. I love you my beautiful mother. Never More Than A Thought Away, Forever in my Heart.
