MULBERRY - Perry W. Benson, age 91, passed away September 24, 2014, at home of heart failure.
Mr. Benson was born in Bradley, FL, on May 1, 1923, to John W. & Maggie Mae (Given) Benson. Mr. Benson moved to Mulberry 66 years ago from Pine Level, FL. Mr. Benson was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines (W.W.II). Mr. Benson worked for C.F. Industries as a dragline operator. Mr. Benson was a 60 year charter member of Eastside Baptist Church of Mulberry.
Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his first wife Grace Benson. He is survived by his wife Martha Benson, sons John Perry Benson (Winnie), James Lee Benson (Teresa) and Wayne Smith (Zenda), daughter Teressa Jacobi (Bob), brother Ralph Benson, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Seigler Funeral Home-Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m.
