Mr. Wagner hired me for my first position at Kathleen High School in 1965. I remember seeing him and his wife at the KHS football games every Friday night. In later years we served together on the Polk County Scholarship and Loan committee. He was always very professional in his dealings with people. He will be missed but always remembered with fondness. I send my condolences to his family.

My father (Bud Mullen) worked with Mr. Wagner for years. He was always very kind to me when I would stop by the office. My thoughts & prayers are with his family and friends. Lynn Mullen Eastridge

Mr. Wagner was principal when I attended Summerlin Institute. You could go to him for anything, and he would always do his best to help. Peace and blessings to his family and all of those whose path he crossed.

Mr. Wagner was principal when I was in high school and retired a year before I graduated. I always wished he had given me my diploma after all those years of his dedication to Summerlin. What a gentle man...yet stern when he needed to be. I loved the man...last time I saw him in Lakeland, he was so glad for me to have remembered him...sweet sweet man. Yes, Polk County schools do need more of this kind of man. Two of my grandchildren go to R. Bruce Wagner Elementary School I am proud to say. He will be greatly missed. Prayers and condolences to his family.
