LAKELAND - Sean Roberts, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, after an eight month battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his two wonderful daughters, Jade and Melissa; his sister; three nephews; and three nieces.
Sean was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and was a graduate of Santa Fe Catholic High School. He also attended Polk Community College, in which he studied business. His first job was as a counselor at his parents' preschool, the Kiddie Kollege. After that, he worked for his father in the family business, HMS Sales. Deciding to branch out on his own, he took a job at InstantWhip Foods and began a long career of selling food items to restaurants and stores.
After marrying, he and Colleen moved to Orlando and he took a position at Frito Lay, Inc, where he made many close friends. Just recently, he wanted a slower pace with more time to spend as a dad so he became a real estate agent and also worked for Armour Eckrich.
Sean never met a stranger, always had a joke to tell and made it his life's mission to be kind to others. He had a lifelong love of music of all kinds and when younger, he played the cello in the Lakeland Orchestra. He took his responsibility as a dad very seriously and was always there for his girls. He will be greatly missed by his entire family, as well as friends all around the country.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 South Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL 32822. Public visitation is from 2:00-4:00pm, with the service from 4:00-5:00pm. Immediately following the service, there will be a 'celebration of life' dinner at the Elks Lodge, 12 North Primrose, Orlando, FL 32803, from 5:30-8:30pm.
In lieu of cut flowers, contributions may be made to the Russell Home For Atypical Children or potted plants for a planned memorial garden will be welcomed.
