LAKELAND - Timothy "Tim" D. Locke, 44, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010 due to heart failure.
Tim was born on September 12, 1966 to Ted and Diane Locke in Lakeland, FL. He was a lifetime resident of the area. Tim was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He worked as an equipment operator with Polk County. He was the president of Lake Gibson FFA Alumni and Central Florida Rodeo Association. Tim loved hunting , fishing and helping kids through the FFA and Rodeo Associations. He was a friend to all and a stranger to none. He will be greatly missed.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kim Locke; son, Dusty Locke; daughter, Kendall Locke; parents, Ted and Diane Locke; brother, Dale (Paula) Locke, all of Lakeland; nephews, Dallas Locke of Bronson, FL and Dalton Locke of Lakeland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 10am to 12 noon at Bethel Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Wayne Roberts officiating. Interment will take place at Socrum Cemetery.

I cannot believe it has been 13 years since you went to Heaven. I still think of you often and smile. That is the kind of impact you had on everyone's life that you touched, Timmy Locke. Picking on everyone, I don't think I'll ever get your cheer out of my head you said to me every time you saw me "Rah Rah Ree, kick 'em in the knee, Rah Rah Rass, Kick 'em in the other knee". I still laugh. Always making fun of my being a "prissy" cheerleader. I sure miss you Timmy Locke. Till we meet again my Friend.

I still can't believe that you are gone! I have known you all my live. From elementary school till now. You always picked on me and gave me a hard time. I will say that I'm going to miss that! I remember when ya'll were doing our road! And you would yell at me from the end of the road. Or better yet you would get in the truck and sit in the front yard and lay on the horn, till I would come out, and say yes Timmy! And your reply was will you bring me out a glass of sweet tea! I know the guys on your crew thought we were crazy. Not to mention my neighbors. They were like do you really now this man that well for him to be picking on you? I was oh yeah he has always been like that to me. And I have know him my entire life. Timmy, you will greatly missed by so many people. I want to thank God for giving us 44 yrs with Tim. The memories of him will forever be cherished of the man who loved his family and gave so much of himself to anyone in need. Timmy was one of the most wonderful & funniest people we have ever known. My husband and I were talking and neither one of us could come up with a time that Timmy did'nt have us laughing to the point of tears and I am sure anybody that ever met him would have to agree. He will be greatly missed by everybody that ever knew him and that ever met him. The world will be a sadder place without Timmy in it. Timmy will be missed by everyone that knew him. He was the person that taught me how to 2 step. He was so light on his feet for a big guy. He was very sick at our wedding, he told me, he promised me he would dance with me at my wedding and he did. I'm so sorry Kim, Dusty and Kendall.

Dear Locke Family, Timmy will be dearly missed especially by the LG FFA family. I just seen timmy this part thursday at the alumni meeting so I was completely shocked to here the news of his passing. He was always encourging us kids to do things and willing to support the many events that we were always wanting to participate in. He will truly be missed.

Timmy Locke was a special man. He had a way of making you laugh with very few words and a couple of facial expressions. He was an imp. He loved his children and wife.
