HAINES CITY - Mr. William E. Cooper, 49, of Haines City, FL passed away on 1/8/12 at his residence of a cancerous brain tumor.
He was born in Yakima, WA on 7/17/62 and moved to the area 26 years ago from Dade County, FL. William was employed with the state of Florida as a corrections officer as a Sgt. and retired from Polk County Sheriff Office as a detention deputy. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the P.B.A. Among his interests were working with computers, poker and his grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his father, John Cooper and is survived by his wife, of 25 years, Kris Cooper; mother, Mary Cooper (Art Partridge); mother in law, Sharon Gilligan; children, Brittany (Daniel) Roberts of Bartow, FL, Eric (Kirsten) Cooper of Haines City; siblings, John J. Cooper of Lake Wales, FL, Teresa Ball of Las Vegas, NV, Deborah Friend of Newark, OH, Jean Davis of Imboden, AR, Tracy (Terry) Giddens; grandchildren, Damon E.A. and Gabriel Roberts and Conner Liam Cooper and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends will be Thursday, 1/12/12 from 1-2 pm with a memorial service to be at 2 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823. Condolences may be sent via: www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
