Betty Mitchell Obituary
Born in Granville County on September 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Charlie William Beal and Elizabeth Ann Oakley Beal.
Betty graduated from South Granville High School in 1964 and in 1967she graduated from Watts School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. After graduating from nursing school, she worked as a labor and delivery nurse briefly at Watts Hospital. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield as an administrative nurse after thirty-five years of service. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home Chapel of Creedmoor. Burial will follow at Bullock Cemetery in Stem.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Farney; one daughter, Melissa Williams; three grandchildren, Jessica Williams, Josh Williams (Hannah) and Jacob Willliams and one brother, Kenneth Beal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Beal Boyd.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service at Sossamon Funeral Home of Creedmoor.
